This is my first medieval armor attempt. I mostly used nurm modeling for the most part but the character mesh is done in z-Brush. The part I was most unsure of was the engravings on the surface of the model I ended up two textures, one for tiling and the other was an atlas and used simple uv templates to place them across the surface. His base mesh is 45k polygons which I think would be acceptable for a high poly game character.
It is of my current D&D character. He is a level 2 fighter/level 7 wizard, wearing mithril plate-mail and wielding a home-brew staff that uses charges to change the element of spells. He has a buzzard motif which fits his character, its a opportunistic bird of prey who gets less respect than their majestic cousins despite being just as an able hunter.
